What Makes a Great Website?
To find out what makes a great website, you need to look at other sites for inspiration. Think of your favorite website that is closely related to your own business or company. Now think about why you like that site. Does it have a Cool Design? Is it easy to use? All of these things are going to influence the way you design your site, whether you realize it or not. There are two main rules when building a website: it must be user-friendly, and it must be visually appealing. It doesn't matter if you've got a great marketing campaign to get traffic to your website, you have to have a great website if you want people to stay at your site for longer than a few seconds, and to get them to come back. The likelihood of a person to return to a website that they have used before weighs heavily on their experience the first time. If you take this into account, and create a user friendly space that makes your customers feel welcome, you'll get much better results in your leads generation and website traffic.
So what makes a great website? Well, for starters, a good web design. If you're not qualified to design and build your own site, hire someone. Don't sacrifice quality for cost; invest in your business and your customers will too. If your site makes it appear that you actually care about your business and your customers, they will respond better than if you create a generic site that's hard to use and boring to peruse. In the business world, whether it's e-commerce or traditional business, you get what you give. If you take the time to hire a designer and plan out a great website, customers will be more likely to take the time to experience everything your website has to offer.
Another important note, when it comes to making a great website: let the designer make suggestions. These are professionals, with extensive experience in internet marketing and advertising. They're likely to have built hundreds of sites, and can tell you first hand what works and what doesn't. If you're not certain of what would be best, ask them for their input, or give them free reign to add or change your design at their discretion.
The content of your site is just as important as the design, if not more so. You need to have articles and sections that are interesting to read, and not just filler content. If you're not sure what to do, hire a writer. Freelance writers can write all the content for your site, just the way you like it, and usually for a nominal fee. This will allow you to say what you want, even if you aren't a wordsmith yourself. Ultimately, what makes a great website is taking the time and money to invest in your business. A user-friendly website that demonstrates a passion for excellence will get much more response than a generic template that doesn't say much more than "Hey, I sell computer parts."
What should i draw on my converse?
So, i just painted my converse white.. I don't want to just put a bunch of like stars and stuff like that on them, because i already have a pair kind of like that. My ideas so far are either to make them black and white checkerboard, or make some kind of cool design like that that looks all cool, not like a bunch of hearts and words and stuff like i did on my other pair. Any ideas? thanks.(: Oh and i have pretty much every color in the world of sharpies, so..yeah.
hmm, now im also thinking maybe some abstract rainbow design?:D
and lol, im not goth, id rather my shoes be a bit less depressing than skulls(:

Cool design for a fire station
11 Sep 2006 at 11:56am It is surprising to see a fire station celebrated for its superior architecture and design. However, the Houten fire station in the Netherlands is pretty cool looking. It includes a two-way split of the interior and one side built mostly of gleaming glass, making it look like a glamorous boutique.
