Virgo Tattoo Design Ideas Based On Mythology And The Tarot
Anyone born between August 23rd and September 23rd has the zodiac sign of Virgo. There are many mythological stories that surround Virgo, and any of them could be used for a tattoo design idea.
Virgo tattoo designs based on the symbol Virgo is represented by the Virgin. The symbol looks like the letter M with the Christian fish symbol. It is really supposed to be the letters M and V, as in Virgin Mary. A simple Virgo tattoo design idea could use the symbol itself. Make it any color, make it tribal, or add something that represents your personality with it. Tattoo design ideas based on the many mythological stories of Virgo Each story could be its own tattoo design, so they will just be listed here: 1) The Virgin Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus through Immaculate Conception. She has since become revered and loved. She is always depicted with a blue cloth draped over her head and shoulders. 2) Astraea, the goddess of Justice. This goddess has also been known as Dike and Nemesis. She upheld Justice in a world of men, but left when the men no longer believed or followed Justice. 3) Ishtar, Ceres, and Demeter all have similar stories that are often represented by Virgo. They each lost a loved one(Tammuz, Proserpina, and Persephone) in the Underworld. Each of them searched for their loved ones, and because of that, crops did not grow and the land became barren. In the end, each allows crops to grow only part of the year, often because they get to see their loved one, and the rest of the year the world is barren, because they are alone or are mourning their loved one. These women are often depicted with an ear of corn, or a stalk of wheat, in their hand. They are representatives of fertility and agriculture. The tattoo design ideas are endless with these stories. Have the loved one on barren soil above, reaching into the Underworld for their loved one, who is below them. Or a Virgo tattoo design of just the women, holding the wheat or corn in their hand. 4) Erigone. When Erigone's father, Icarius, was missing, she went to find him. She took their faithful dog, Maera, with her. When she found her father dead, Erigone climbed to the top of a tree and hung her self. The dog remained there by the two bodies until he died of starvation. It is often believed that he three of them are in the stars together. It would be a bit gross to have a tattoo of a hanged woman, a dead man, and a dying dog. However, a Virgo tattoo of Erigone with Maera, the dog, would be great to show devotion. Virgo tattoo design ideas based on the Tarot Moving away from virginal women, the Tarot card for Virgo is The Hermit. This man wears a rode, and carries a staff and a lighted lantern. He is leading the way for others to follow, but must do so alone in order to find the dangers and obstacles along the way. He is solitary, but cares deeply. If you fit this description, a tattoo of the Tarot card, The Hermit, would be perfect. Make sure the lantern is very bright. Some random notes about Virgo for tattoo design ideas Use these bits of information on any Virgo tattoo idea: 1) Virgo's colors are green and brown. 2) Her starstone is the sardonyx. 3) Virgo is a sun sign.
