The Phoenix, the mythical bird that rises from its ashes, soars in at number eight for tattoo popularity. These birds are so admired for their mythical abilities that they are often requested to be permanently placed on peoples' bodies to honor the Phoenix's magical powers and immortality. it represents forever life, and many people like this talisman on their person at all times. At number nine is the butterfly, most popular with women who want tattoos.
